About Us
A.S. Kitching is a family run dispensing Chemist based in Oakengates, Telford. We dispense private and NHS prescriptions and sell over the counter medicines. All our staff are trained to the recognised national standards, this includes advice on medicine, how to stop smoking and travel requirements.
The Managing Director and Proprietor is Mr Richard Kitching. The business has been handed down throughout the Kitching family for approximately 130 years and is the second oldest business in Oakengates.
A.S. Kitching Ltd. is based right next door to the local G.P's clinic, this is the perfect location for us to be in and have an excellent working relationship with the surgery. We think it it's the ideal situation for patients to be able to see their Doctor and come right next door to pick up their prescription.
We currently have 15 members of staff (see more about our staff in the meet the staff section). These include Pharmacists, Pharmacy technicians and medicine counter assistants. All counter staff complete medicines counter training and can then progress to stock control and ordering training should they wish. When opportunities arise they are able to train as dispensing assistance and technicians., equivalent to NVQ level 2 and 3.
